We are looking for a few dedicated individuals to join our team, to aid us in producing some of the most sought-after knives in the world.

We have multiple full-time positions open. Please see below for details.

Knife Technician – Potential leading to full knife maker role.

Job Location: Petworth, West Sussex

Compensation: Initial hourly wage based on experience, age and training required.

Wage: £11+ per hour starting DOE, increasing with on-the-job training programme.

Health cover after the 12 months. Pension scheme. 20 days paid Holiday per annum plus bank holidays.

Full Time: 40hr/wk 0930-1730 Monday – Friday,

3-4 weekends required per year for trade events.

Job Description:

The role of a Knife Technician is to support our knife makers by preparing and finishing components, receiving direct training under lead makers.

Requirements: – No formal experience required

  •  Ideally 2+ years of experience with precision and power tools preferred
  •  Self-driven, methodical, with acute attention to detail.
  •  A passion around building things and working with one’s hands.
  •  Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  •  Keenness to learn and grow.

Training begins immediately upon hiring. While we maintain high standards, we are committed to fostering your learning journey, our goal is to create the next generation of Emberleaf Knifemakers.

Frequent Tasks: 

Handle finishing operations and polishing.

Marking and cutting knife profiles + Drilling operations

Material surface prep

Folding knife parts prep

Heat treatment of blades and other parts.

General maintenance and cleaning of machines

 

CNC Operator / Loader

Job Location: Petworth, West Sussex

Job Description:

Work through a schedule of parts and cutting lists to produce precision folding knife parts.

Skills and experience required:

Knowledge of CNC cutting machines and auto cad drawings.

Loading and unloading CNC machines

Tramming jigs

Maintenance and servicing/cleaning of CNC machines

Experience with CAD (FUSION 360) or similar software also advantageous but not essential.

Personal skills required:

  •  Self-driven, methodical, with acute attention to detail.
  •  A passion around building things and working with one’s hands.
  •  Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  •  Keenness to learn and grow.
Apprenticeships

The Emberleaf apprenticeship programme has been set up to cater for anyone who wishes to learn, however is a part/full-time role with the goal of creating the next generation of Emberleaf knife makers.

Wage:  Dependent on age and previous experience

Ideal age 16-20 but will consider anyone that wishes to learn or re-trade.

no experience or qualifications are necessary but advantageous if you have any background or knowledge in any engineering disciple.

Must be able to travel to Emberleaf HQ, daily.

Collage (Chichester Collage, Binsbury) machinist/engineering courses available starting sept 2024, however not required, with existing experience.
