Knife makers and luxury manufacturing assistant
Job Location: Petworth, West Sussex
Compensation: Initial hourly wage based on experience, age and training required.
Wage: £13.50+ per hour starting DOE, increasing with on-the-job training programme.
Health cover after the 12 months. Pension scheme. 20 days paid Holiday per annum plus bank holidays.
Full Time: 40hr/wk 0930-1730 Monday – Friday, including lunch breaks.
Job Description:
The role is for a workshop assistant, helping to produce, assemble and finish parts in support of the Bladesmiths, knife techs and special projects team.
Requirements: – No formal experience required
- Ideally, 2+ years of experience with precision and power tools preferred
- Self-driven, methodical, with acute attention to detail.
- A passion for building things and working with one’s hands.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Keenness to learn and grow.
Training begins immediately upon hiring. While we maintain high standards, we are committed to fostering your learning journey, our goal is to create the next generation of Emberleaf Knifemakers.
Frequent Tasks:
Handle finishing operations and polishing.
Marking and cutting knife profiles + Drilling operations
CNC machine loading and operations
Material surface prep
Timber prep
General maintenance and cleaning of machines
